Vandy Massey - Week #45

Focusing on pure colour and pattern over the next few posts, I'm getting back to the basics of washes.

On getting to know the characteristics of handmade bronze paint:
Paper: 190gsm Bockingford CP (NOT)

Perylene Maroon underwash. Second wash of bronze watercolour wet on dry, to show the burnish of the bronze paint.

Watercolour pencil lines of soft brown.  Second wash of Quinacridone Gold and hand mixed bronze paint.  Wet in wet, the bronze paint granulates creating good texture. However, the burnish only shows strongly when the paint is less granulated.
